The neglect of Owerri Umuahia Road is cruelty and marginalisation in practice by the federal government of Nigeria. This type of marginalisation is a recruiting ground for Biafran agitation. How on earth does the federal government of Nigeria expects the youths of Awaka Owerri Imo State to feel when they are openly marginalised, secluded and neglected from the national cake of Nigeria when oil is drilled at their backyard in Egbema? 90% of graduates in Owerri are unemployed when Owerri has the highest number of graduates in the world. Owerri is tthe seat of education where there are doctors, engineers, scientis, lecturer, etc., name it all, they have it. The federal government of Nigeria cannot even repair their roads, let alone building or attracting industry to Owerri. There is no single federal industry in Owerri, yet we are loyal to the government. The people of Awaka are not politicians however, they are professionals in all walks of life. Why are they marginalised? Let us not forget in a hurry, Awaka was the last place that the federal government attacked with their fighter jets in December 1969 not minding the children who gathered for their ration (food). All the succeeding governments of Nigeria neglected awaka and Owerri in general as it was the last stronghold of Biafran war. General Obasanjo can testify to that. General Buhari also neglected it when he was allocating the PTF Fund. The federal government should tell Nigerians and indeed the world why Awaka and Owerri is neglected since the end of Biafran war, yet they are meant to be Nigerians. Can any peoples of Nigeria accept a death-trap like this called road in their villages and towns? The people of Awaka and Owerri have been suffering like this since the Biafran civil war ended. Shame on the federal government of Nigeria. Your evil on the people of Awaka and Owerri has been exposed.
