Charity they say begins at home. I shall refrain from criticizing other states of Nigeria and concentrate on my own Imo State. The crave for wealth has ruined our beliefs and values. It is good to acquire wealth honestly and decently but the new crop of Nde Igbo from Imo State have legitimized corruption and establish new order of ‘get rich at all cost’ which has redefined the culture of Igbos from Imo State. The newly emerged leaders of Imo State are of same blood stream as their fathers before them. Please do not misconstrue what I am saying, there are many honest Imo Citicizens living both home and abroad but the tiny percentage has infested the majority. Look around in Imo state, criminality has been established. Criminals are the role model and the up coming children are now looking up to them. The society has accepted the new culture. Religion has accepted it as the reverend fathers court these criminals for money.

Almost everyone in Imo State has soiled his hands one way or the other. This is the reason why Rochas Okorocha is behaving like the lord of the ring. Imo State House of Assembly is totally useless as they have no clue on what they are supposed to be doing or why they are elected. They are just dummies. Errand boys for they governor. Is it not their job to checkmate the governor’s excesses? God forbid as the elected people of Imo House of Asssembly have no moral compass. Imo State of all people lost its bearing since Pa Sam Mbakwe left office. There is a new dawn in Imo State and I weep for my people as we have derailed. We need mental re-orientation, we need training, we need to promote new role models to project themselves as honest, decent and caring people. We must educate the youngsters that there is honour in service. We need to let youngsters know that their hope is in education and hard work. Illegal money does only shortlive. Illegal money does not last. Illegal money brings no respect to anyone. The people of Imo State have lost their bearing and we need re-alignment. Who will lead the people of Imo State? We need a new Moses of 21st century. Can we find him anywhere in Imo State? He who has ear let him hear.
