Nigeria, a state controlled by oligarchs. Nigeria, a state of divided peoples. Nigeria, a state designed to fall and to be controlled by conspiration. Nigeria is a state united by dubious intent. By 1914, the intention of Lord Luggard was not to build a stable nation but a state of distrust, anarchy and betrayal. The unity of Nigeria was not the intention of the British but a divided house, whereby they, the British would forever be the mediators. Let us agree on one thing that Nigerians at the beginning were not related naturally by any means. Nigeria was arrogantly put together without consultation by the British. All the three major tribes of Nigeria had at some point voiced out their frustration and dissatisfaction of the unity of peoples of various cultures put together as Nigeria. However, I praise Nigerians for handling this delicate and fragile nation with care. A secrete investigation will reveal that the British are themselves surprise that Nigeria is still functioning as a nation after one hundred years.

The problem of Nigeria is that we pretend to be one but in reality, we all agree behind closed doors that we are not. One cannot lie to himself and cannot run away from his shadow. The solution to any ailment is to know the cause. Before you progress further to read the next paragraph, can you pause a little and do a soul seaching investigation within you. Are Nigerians truly related naturally? Do we need to live together as one nation? Do we really want to be one Nigeria? The answer you come up with within you will influence your understanding of this publication, and how you will come up with your own solution to one Nigeria.

I, the writer believe that we are not related naturally. However, unity is strength. Large population counts though, it has its own disadvantage but that is not my intention of this publication. Now that we know that we are not naturally related, can we now sit down and find a common ground to live and work together? To start with, God created the tribes of the world, the English, The Schottish, The Igbos, The Hausas, The Yorubas, The Tiv, The Benins, The Jews, etc. All these tribes are nations unto Heaven and no man can divide it otherwise. The reference to Nigerian compsition is Britain, though Britain was put together by force but Nigeria was put together peacefully but without consultation.

For Nigeria to redesign their existence, we have to individually recognise the existence of all the tribes of Nigeria, irrespective of how small they are. Togetherness of Nigeria is something of the mind. One must whole heartedly accept to associate with another before friendship may take place. In the case of Nigeria, there must be a national conference to agree on the formulae. Do we really need a presidential system? Can’t we formulate our own system? Why are we dividing the tribes? Why has Britain not divided her tribes? They still live as one according to their tribes. The English control their affairs, the Schottish control their affairs, the Welsh and Irish do the same thing. All the Tribes of United Kingdom have something unique that acts as motivator for healthy competition. Without competition, there is no development. The reason why all the politicians of Nigeria are clamouring for unity is because of the benefits that disunity of Nigeria brings to them nationally. For the interest of disunity, all politicians compete to steal national resources as much as he or she can in the name of “my people” for personal aggrandisement.

To conclude this publication, I ask you again to reflect and search your soul. How do you think your “one Nigeria” looks like in your own mini-world now that you have read my own suggestions? Where can we begin to recompose Nigeria as a nation? Do you think it is better to leave Nigeria as it is, for every politician to steal as much as he can for the interest of sectionalism and tribalism? Look at the members of APC, were they not the former leaders of PDP? Look at the Senate and House of representatives; what do you see? Are they not former governors, ministers, and others who actually embezzled the money of the state or the federal government? Can any one of them raise his hand up to say I am innocent? I bet you, none of the elected members and appointed ministers is better than Colonel Dasuki. These politicians get away with stealing of the national resources because of the disunity of Nigeria. Now, when can Nigerians wake up to readdress this imbalance of a nation called Nigeria? Let all the component parts of Nigeria re-examine themselves truthfully. Let us select ordinary Nigerians (teachers, doctors, electricians, market women, engineers, community leaders, etc.) for a national conference, so as to redesign the political composition of Nigeria for the interest of all. Let us not deceive ourselves, Nigeria as it is now, we are not united. He who has ear let him hear.
