I continually ponder over the reason behind the stoppage of female circumcision, otherwise known as female genital mutilation (FGM). Female genital mutilation is the cutting off or the removal of the external femaile genitalia. Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) comprises of all procedures that involve partial or total removal of the external female genitalia, or other injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons (WHO). It is also sometimes referred to as female genital cutting or female circumcision. I am not a woman, nor am I planning for transgender, however I am baffled by the World Health Organisation’s decision to stop female circumcision. Many females from the countries where there is no female circumcision have expressed their wish to remove the unwanted dangling organ between their legs which keep rubbing agains their thighs, hence creating unnecessary sensation. Again, I can understand the claims that female circumcision at a later stage causes pain, physical and psychological trauma to women. However this has been my national tradition to remove the unwanted part. 

Female circumcision is supposed to be carried out within the first few weeks of a baby. Both male and female babies feel the pain which lasted for few days. In some tribes and in some cases, and for some reasons, circumcision is carried out on a growing child or teenager, thereby causing severe pain and trauma. In this case, circumcision on anyone, male or female is wrong. I was involved in an argument concerning female reaching climax in sexual activity. Some ladies argued that being uncircumcised they enjoy longer sex life and it takes a while to reach orgasm, while others argued that they reach orgasm quicker as they enjoy sex better. That begs for the question “what is orgasm”? Orgasm is a feeling of intense sexual pleasure that happens during sexual activity. In other words orgasm is a sudden discharge of accummulated sexual excitement during the sexual response cycle. Now coming from the angle of a man whose duty is to take a woman to a climax where the issue of orgasm is realised, I can understand the arguments of both the circumcised and the uncircumcised. I am not a woman and I am not planning to be one in my life time, however with experience over the years, I can see that most women who are circumcised reach orgasm quicker that those who are not circumcised. The uncircumcised woman takes time to be turn on and there is always plenty of foreplay to get them excited, and during the sexual acttivity, it takes a longer time for uncircumcised woman to reach climax of orgasm. In the argument, the uncircumcised women said that it is the duty of the men to have the strength to take them to their climax of orgasm. This begs the question, have the men any extra strength to take an uncircumcised woman to a climax of orgasm? In other perspective, are men not better off with the circumcised women who can reach their climax with minimum effort from men. Must men exhaust their strengths in the quest to satisfy their uncircumcised women?

This begs the question why the World Health Organisation promote the stopage of female circumcision to promote Western culture of not circumcising their women. Should nations not be allowed to practise their culture? I believe that my mother, my grandmother, my great grandmothers and host of others before them were circumcised. During the olden days there were less lesbians, however with the dangling genitalia, females may not have the need for men’s organ to enjoy sex as uncircumcised female can make use of the unmutilated organ, thereby increasing the number of homoxesuality in women. I believe that any man who have been in the two worlds of circumcised and uncircumcised women will know that whatever is the argument, the unmutilated part of women stand in the way of good sexual interaction hence some women have expressed the wish to remove the intruding part of their private body. This article may sound weird however, there should be a debate to allow women with the tradition of female circumcision to exercise their culture on their children. No matter what the argument of female genital mutilation is, in the case of sexual interaction, the circumcised women enjoy sex better than the uncircumcised hence they reach orgasm many times during sexual intercourse than their uncircumcised counterparts. Out of physical experience, I support female circumcision as the unmutilated organ intrudes in sexual activities, and in some cases, women are embarrased.
