Let us try a new political system for the sake of peace and development in Nigeria. The new political system will be in place for 25 years and thereafter it should be partitioned to create four viable countries that will be the light of Africa. The restructured Nigeria may look like this:

1) A President with three Vice Presidents (one each from the East, the West and from the North).

2) Six Prime Ministers with six Deputy Prime Ministers

3) Local Government Chairmen with Ward Councillors.

The President in charge of the Army and Federal police to secure the boundaries of Nigeria. He should have minister of external affairs and the governor of Central Bank; minister of internal affairs with Auditor General. There should be a federal minister of finance.

The six Prime Ministers in charge of their regions according to the present composition. They take the economic responsibility and the development of their regions, answerable to the Auditor general and the president for accountability.

The six Deputy Prime Ministers will be in charge of infrastructural developments and liaising with the local government chairmen and councillors. They must work with community heads and traditional rulers. There must be regional auditor generals working with regional central banks. There must be a committee interlocking and interlacing the activities of all offices to ensure accountability at all levels of government.

The prime ministers will be responsible for revenue generations, paying taxes to the federal government to manage federal Arms of the government. There may be few regional commissioners or secretaries. The local government chairmen will be responsible for the welfare and the well-being of the people. Everyone should go to the local government where they reside. Local government is responsible for schools and education of the under 18 years old. The interlacement Committee must ensure the flow of information to interlace all political and economic activities.

The Prime ministers will work with the police and the chief justice of their region to maintain law and order. Police will train and license security outfits for private policing for those who need them. No federal or regional police should be used to guard anybody. The new political structure will last for twenty five years and from there three or four countries will emerge peacefully with already established structures. The new countries will be:

1) Federal Republic of Arewa

2) The Republic of Oduduwa

3) The Federal Republic of Biafra

4) The Republic of Middle Belt

There will be two plebiscites (1) by 2023 to kick start the restructure of Nigeria (2) 2048 to partition Nigeria into four countries that will lead African economy and development. This is a suggestion but could be altered for inclusiveness, equity and justice. Nigeria is not working as it is and definitely need overhauling to be able to stand on its pillars to take her place in Africa. Nigerians are wasting their talents as it is presently. Nepotism and my-turn-syndrome is crippling Nigeria. No region or tribe is benefiting from this mayhem going on in Nigeria presently. All peoples of Nigeria are suffering untold hardship, stress and the inability of leaders to show leadership.

This suggestion is not perfect but it is for the interest of peace and development, accountability, equity and justice. It is to secure the lives and properties of Nigerians. Nigerians need protection but the present federal government is not offering it due to the unmanageable size of Nigeria. We love each other but we need to be alive to enjoy it. As it is, there no future for our youth. We must peacefully and collectively dismantle Nigeria, overhaul it and couple it back to inject life into it. I am not here to lay blame on anyone but one thing is clear, we have failed and we must think again and the way to do that is by referendum that leads to restructure of Nigeria. Nnamdi Kanu is not our problem, he is the solution. Arise Nigerians and let us collectively shine.
