Nigerians in authority lack etiquette! If the sexual allegation was to be in the United Kingdom, Senator Akpabio would not have lasted 24 hours in the office as Senator, not to talk of being the Senate president irrespective of his defence. Nigerians in authority are pretty useless; we want to be like the UK but we do not want to behave like the British people with values and integrity. Akpabio would have resigned his seat as a Senator, and then queue up for by-election! Nigerians in authority are pretty useless, and have no moral values expected from public office holders! In the United Kingdom, whether Akpabio was right or wrong is irrelevant; he must have stepped down, stands aside from his position, and then work hard to clear his name first before being re-admitted into the party as the first thing his party would have done was to suspend him from the party. Now see the opposite reactions from Nigerian Senate by suspending the complainant instead of setting up a thorough investigation while Senator Natasha still holds her office. If at the end, the case was frivolous, the Senate committee could then recommend actions against her, either to resign her seat as a Senator and/or face court charges for defamation to the Senate president, and the disreputation to the office of Senate president and the Senators. Nigeria is a disgrace in the eyes of International communities! When can we begin to do the right things in Nigeria?
