As a writer that challenges bad governance, I am almost giving up on Nigeria because of the fact that those that one intends to protect are the ones calling him names, pulling him backwards by singing praises for bad governance. The sychophants within Nigerian populace do not in themselves know their right and their left. The level of mediocrity in Nigeria’s three tiers of government is alarming. We can condemn the federal government as much as we want however, the mediocrity in state and local government governance is alarming. Every level of governance has gone down hill; those in government do not know anything about public service, leadership and management. These selected few have no clue of what they are supposed to do in the office of public service hence mediocrity, nepotism, sychophancy and my-turn syndrome fill all the spaces of governance in Nigerian government!

However based on the above, I have concluded that Nigeria will never move forward in its present composition. It has to be divided into three to four or even five countries. Nigeria is a composition of nations, three of whom are bigger than the big countries of Europe with the exception of Russia. Nigerians are not related in any shape or form; why is Nigeria forced to stay as one country is baffling as the languages are different, cultures are different, values and beliefs are different. Those who put Nigeria together know that their aim is for economic gains, and political control. I do not know the reason why Nigerians have not understood that Nigeria would remain as it is as long as it remains in its present composition; tribalism, nepotism and ineptitude would always rule Nigerian political space and governance. The envisaged change of government 2027 would never take Nigeria forward to join the league of nations!

However, Nigeria in its current composition expired in 2014, after one hundred (100) years of its intentions and purposes, from 1914 to 2014, and as it is presently, it is illegally running as a country. Nigerians have never come together to decide and to agree to live together as one. Hong Kong had the same 100 (one hundred) years’ time limit, and China did not give Britain one minute to extend their rule in Hong Kong. Why is Nigeria different? Lord Luggard came from Hong Kong to put Nigeria together by 1914. Nigeria must be divided according to its component relevance or component parts. The Igbos, the Hausa and the Yoruba must go their separate ways as they are not related in any way! They have nothing in common. However, the minorities of the north and south should be given one country each or ask to join any of the big three. It should be noteworthy that the middle belt of Nigeria can never live together with the North as long as the fulani endeared and therefore, they must have their own country otherwise, the killings by the fulani militia must continue!

However, the southern minorities are not as endangered people as that of the north. The whole of the south share common values though their language and culture may defer! Based on that the southern minorities should be given a choice of aligning with the Igbos, Yoruba or be on their own hence I suggested four or five countries. The 2027 elections may bring in a change of personality and political party in government however, there is a broken trust between the Igbos, the Yoruba and the Hausa as long as the fulanis are factored in the equation! Ahmadu Belo was persuaded into one Nigeria by Nnamdi Azikiwe and the British; Murtala Muhammed was persuaded into one Nigeria by Britain, and Awolowo was persuaded into one Nigeria. Who then believe in one Nigeria if not Zik, Aguiyi Ironsi and the British government?

Let me allay the fears of one-Nigerianers, dividing Nigeria would increase competition, bring the best out of the people that would improve economic development. There would be no more divide and rule policy, no more tribalism which would improve quality of governance, and to improve the lives of the people without the songs of tribalism and religion that presently divided Nigerians. Dividing Nigeria would stop the ever-advancement of fulani militia, and maintain security of the people, improve education and the quality of live, build bridges of peace and harmony for the old Nigerians. No more distrust, mistrust; the mismanagement and embezzlement of public funds would greatly reduce! Dividing Nigeria is a win-win case for everybody! It worked in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh; it worked in Malaysia and Singapore; it worked in Europe, and it is working in Britain. Whatever that is good for the goose is equally good for the gander! He who has ear let him hear!
