Nigeria, which is the best way forward? 2018 is here and 2019 is just less than 363 days from now. 2018 and 2019 are important years in the political calendar of Nigeria. All the songs, rumours and scheming we will be hearing this years are all about politics. Politicians will begin to make new friends and renew old ones. One thing is certain, Nigerians as usual will lend them their ears and will play balls with them. Nigerians will momentarily forget their pains and join hands with politicians to scheme and campaign. Every Nigerian all over the world felt the pain of hardship in 2017. APC government promised Heaven on earth and could not deliver. They campaigned for change and all we heard was monumental bundles of currencies stacked every corner of Nigeria. EFCC barking endlessly. APC promising endlessly. At the end nothing practically happened. The only thing that happened was Rochas moulding all his friends who are discreditted in their various countries. Without Rochas, Nigeria would have been a boring place. Thank God Rochas came up with all sorts of ridiculous ideas, including the new office of the commissioners for enjoyment. Heaven knows we needed this happiness from enjoyment as our hearts were troubled by what was going on in Nigeria and the world around us.
Entered Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Politicians panicked and the federal government added a bit to what Rochas has done, away from their campaign promises through Python Dance 2. Young men waving Biafran flags got slaughtered on the streets of Ibeku Umuahia. No one in Africa was as popular as Nnamdi Kanu was prior to Python Dance 2. He campaigned for real change. All of a sudden every Nigerian was talking about restructure. The sound of which was musical in the ears of Nigerians except the politicians who feard for their relevance. All eyes were on Nigeria until the infamous python dance 2; after which Nigerians reclined into their shelves due to fear. No one is talking anymore about restructure after Kanu mysterious vannished into the thin air, dead or alive we do not know. I have never seen or heard of a nation that was cowed or intimidated in the way Nigerians did after Nnamdi Kanu. My God, Nigerians love their lives so much. All Nigerians want to go to Heaven but no one want to die first. How can a man enter the Kingdom of God without shedding his earthly body? This demonstrated that the problems of Nigeria has a long way to go. Yes, Nigerians do not want military intervention anynore however, they are blind on what is going on around them in other countries. They want good government but they want God to come down and pluck off all the politicians for them. Anyway, how do we move forward?
It is all depends on legislators enacting laws that ensure accountability. The present state governors are Nigerian biggest undoing. They are fearless in terms of boldly stealing and squandering public funds. The present system is not working in the east, neither in the west nor in the north. The presidents of Nigeria are not the major problem but the governors certainly are. The president of Nigeria has no state of his own if the governors and local governments are functioning properly. The houses of senate and rep, including state legislators must reason and know what they are elected for. Most of them, especially like the ones we have in Imo State are pretty useless and do not know their left from their right as the are appointed and funded by Rochas. Like my Facebook friends Ibrahim and Abdulsalam said, any revolution such as the one by IPOB would be hijacked by politicians who fear for their relevance and pockets. I suggest that Nigerians to begin now to put pressure on their legislators, and if and only when they realise that their seats are threatened, they may begin to do something. The legislators should be reminded that their tenure is only four years and someone else may take their seats. They should do something now as these present legislators are likely to lose their seats. They should be advised to do something now that they hold the power as tomorrow may be too late for them. I cry for Nigeria as good is not in sight yet. However, the president, General Muhammadu Buhari came in to change, and has since forgotten why he is sitting down there on Aso Rock. He has lost all initiatives and things are back to square one. He has lost his bearing, and I do not know if he has realised it. There is nothing to remember him in office but hardship and passing the blames to someone else. This is how I have seen it. Nigeria, where is our help coming from? No one would save Nigeria but Nigerians. Wake up now and be counted. Who will bell the cat in Nigeria? I have said it, he who has ear let him hear.
