What happened to Ike Ekweremadu in Germany is a message sent to Nigerian politicians through him. The message is clear and loud, Igbo politicians and indeed, others must wake up and stand up for their people. They have wasted the space for so long. Ekweremadu held a high position and it is good to start from him, then those under him should wake up. Igbo politicians in federal and state have not done anything to defend the Igbo nation. They are all there filling their pockets, helping the federal government to marginalise Igboland and Igbo people. This is unacceptable. People should stop shedding crocodile tears for Ike Ekweremadu. Ordinary Igbo man is fed with the politicians. Someone like Ekweremadu could have done more for the Igbos, bailing Nnamdi Kanu is not enough to give the account of his stewardship for over ten years in the senate. People can cry for him but I am not. All politicians must wake up to work with the government to provide basic needs for the people. In Igboland, no medical system, no transport system, no educational system, no electricity, no food.. I do not know the reason why people are still clapping and defending politicians.
However can Ike Ekweremadu tell us what he has done in the senate. How many meaningful bills has he introduced? any welfare system? Even all the road to the east are so bad. Owerri airport is central, why can’t the politicians made it clear to the government that such project is necessary. It will reduce the death toll of the innocent Igbos on Lagos and Abuja roads. We have no choice than to travel through these cities, spending more than six hours on the death-trap roads. Igbo politicians have taken the people for granted. These bunch of politicians of Igbo extract are pretty useless, just wasting the space for others. Those who care so much should tell Ike Ekweremadu to wake up and change his ways if he wants to belong to Igbo leadership. I am not only referring to Ike Ekweremadu, Abaribe is included. All of them in the senate and house of rep must stand up now otherwise what happened to Ekweremadu would be a child’s play. If they do not change their ways, they would be locked up in police cells in Europe. The politicians should study the European citizen’s right to arrest. I hope the Igbo Americans stand up now and challenge these politicians. Our people have gone through hell in Nigeria.
