Nigerian political leaders are detatched from the reality of life in Nigeria. All Nigerian political leaders are guilty of the same offence, corrupt, insensitive to the plight of their people. Those in Nigeria have lost courage to confront the political leaders who are living flamboyantly with disregard to the people that they represent. Ike Ekweremadu saying that the attackers were either drunk or on drug shows that he is part of the elite who have not understood the suffering of Nigerians. In Europe we are fed up with most politicians, some of them do not even know why they are elected. Ekweremadu, by his position should be at the forefront of Igbo effort to reduce the suffering of the common man. The politicians live like kings and feel very untouchable, unconcerned of the living conditions of ordinary people. The East is devastated, no road, no food, no water, no medical system, no good educational system, poverty overruns the people. The people look up, no help, not from government nor from politicians. Everyone to himself. All the elected politicians only protect their pockets. They were elected to scrutinised the actions and inaction of those managing the affairs of the government however they let the governors, ministers and the presidency do whatever they like while the people are suffering. No accountability. Business as usual, corruption. Today, it is Ike Ekweremadu, tomorrow it could be another high ranking politician. The claim that the German tuggle is about IPOB is nonsense. It is about the welfare of Igbos. It is time all the houses (senate, house of rep and state assembly) sat up and do what they were elected to do. In Europe throwing egg to politicians is a normal way of demonstrating dissent.
However Ike Ekweremadu should consult his fellow elected members to effectively represent Igbo cause. Other politicians of Nigeria should do the same and listen to their people. This is not the issue of IPOB, this is the collective voice of the majority of Igbos. The marginalisation is now unbearable and we are voicing our concerns. In Igboland, no good road, no international airport, no sea port, no railway, no work, no hospital, no food, nothing. Jobless youth everywhere. Unemployment everywhere. No one cares. Do you want me to join hands in clapping for our politicians, especially those in the senate and house of representatives, really? NO. Ike Ekweremadu should go back to the senate and confide in others to do the right thing. We are fed up of politicians. Igbo amaa eze! Show that you are a leader, we will follow you. However leadership is altruistic, selfless, be at the front and lead by example. Do we have leaders in Igboland at the moment? The answer is NO! Those who aspire to be leaders in Igboland should stand up to be counted. Enough is enough!
