Nigeria is a nation that does not reflect. Self-reflection and self-respect enable critical thinking that leads to self-evaluation. For anyone to continue to do what he normally get bad results is madness. I personally wonder why many Nigerians see what is happening in Nigerian politics and government as normal. I personally wonder why the most affected people of Nigerian bad government and mismanagement sing praises for corruption and criminality. Nigeria has turned to nothingness. No one cares. Everyone thinks that it is normal. However almost everyone in government in Nigeria is a criminal and or an agent of crime. It is hardly any truthful person in Nigerian politics and government. Those who are in politics to improve the wellbeing of their people are forced out because they are not one of them. Nigerian character “if you cannot beat them join them” and this has been the rule of law in Nigeria.
Nigerians born in the 1980s will never know that there was a time Nigeria was a respected country, education was amongst the best in the world. The economy was managed by honourable men. There was decency in the national assemblies where educated men and women were sitting and deliberating for the interests of their people. There were effective oppositions in government, such as Malam Aminu Kano, Waziri Ibrahim, Obafemi Awolowo, Zik of Africa, Edwin Umezuoke, Tunji Braithwaite, Barrister Ahamba and others. Balarebe Musu of Kaduna was impeached and he did not pull down hell on earth. Abubakar Rimi of Kano resigned as a governor to lead a better life for Kano people. However honourable men managed the electoral commission. People like Ovie Whisky and others. There was a time the last hope of ordinary man was in the justice system. I can still hear Nigerians speaking out against corruption and injustice but most people are not listening to them. I have read and listened to many voices of reasoning yet the people are not bothered. I did not know that there are Nigerians who wonder the way I do about what is happening to Nigeria presently where the only thing that matter is corruption in government. No nations on earth behave like Nigerians and no government under the sun openly steals the “people’s money” and the people clap and sing praises for them for doing so. Nigeria is a disgrace and Nigerian politicians are wolf in sheep clothing, Satan in white garment. Corruption has permeated into our blood stream however I do not know why Nigerians see this as normal, “my turn syndrome” of any government in waiting. It is sad.
