The reasons behind the agitation for Biafra remain as it was till date. Nothing has changed and the agitation continues. The Igbos and the Biafrans, what do you want? What do you really want from Nigeria and the world at large? None of the demands that led to the agitation has been addressed yet people are pointing fingers in the wrong direction. Are the Igbos and the East of Nigeria, be it South East or South South not still marginalised?
There is anger in Igboland and the entire Nigeria, especially none Igbos about the sit at home. The reason behind the “sit-at-home” is yet to be addressed yet some people, Igbos included think it is time to end it; really? Nigerian national anthem says “the Labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain” and I asked, have the Igbos and the Biafrans achieved the effort of their past heroes? I believe that the most confused race of Africa is the Igbos who want Biafra, Nigeria and Africa, all at the same time. No, it doesn’t work out like that; you have to choose one and then extend from that to the other.
Now enters the Nigerian government, Chika Edoziem and Simon Ekpa; IPOB is relegated to spectators. One thing is certain, and in Igbo culture “Obi Eze” is filled with many characters: the bold, the weak and the meek. One finds all sorts of characters in the Palace of a king, the violent and the peace makers included. For that reason one does not go seeking for trouble in the King’s Palace. Now enters Simon Ekpa who was tamed by the presence of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Simon is saying you cannot enjoy 2022 Christmas and 2023 general election with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu still in prison. The IPOB DOS saw it on time that Simon Ekpa is someone they may not contend with, neither control, refused him to take over the radio of Biafra and wanted him to sign undertaking which Simon Ekpa vehemently refused to sign.
IPOB continued “sit-at-home” on the days Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is in the court which is understandable. The United Nations has given Nigerian government six (6) months to release Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally yet nothing is done about it; all noises by Biafrans and the public. Appeal Court has dismissed Nnamdi Kanu’s case, yet the federal government does nothing about it. Nigerians yearn for peace; they collectively advocated that the major political parties to zone their 2023 presidency to the East, and that was ignored. Many so-called leaders of Nigeria, especially from the North and the West made mockery of the Igbos, claiming that the Igbos who taught their fathers politics were not yet matured to be president of Nigeria, that only the West and the North had what it takes to be the president of Nigeria yet they generally acknowledged that the Igbos are the most educated and the most richest nation of Africa. Is that not an insult to the Igbos? To achieve their common purpose IPOB DOS wants limited sit-at-home, and Simon Ekpa and his auto-pilot want contined sit-at-home to disrupt the collection of INEC PVC by the Easterners hence they introduced a draconial order, sit-at-home for six (6) days, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th of December 2022; madness!Ewu ndaa tara okwuru ndaa; the chicken has come home to roost. Trouble everywhere, blood everywhere, nde kwe nde ekwela! What on eartth would a young man to choose to die instead of to live? Igbos, we are in trouble; I hope we will have men to take over from us; the killing is too much, and it is now out of hand. Who is doing what? the unknown gunmen, the combined forces of Nigeria, the criminals, all converge in one spot, Igboland, killing at will. Where are our leaders? We need a calming voice! Do not forget that others are enjoying what is happening in the East and pray that it remains that way until after the 2023 election.
However, now enters Peter Obi from nowhere! He started his message of better Nigeria and Nigerians, young and old are queuing up behind him and his message for better Nigeria has now gained momentum; everyone now agrees Peter Obi could be the messiah we are all waiting for in Nigeria though could be the end of Biafra!. Obi-Datti is the in-thing, everyone talking about it; Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is now forgotten in prison; Igbos and other Biafrans have forgotten that “Nnamdi Kanu is another saviour”, and the song is now died down; the name of Biafra and Nnamdi Kanu are quietly fizzling out. This is where the Buhari government and other Nigerians want the Igbos and Biafrans to be. Is Nnamdi Kanu still in prison? Yes he is! Has the federal government stopped marginalising the Igbos and Biafrans? No, they have not! Is sit-at-home still in place in Biafra land? Yes, it is! Has it been called off? No, it has not! Argument and confusion everywhere!
Now enters the argument! Labour Party was not one of the major parties. It is with shere miracle that it is now rubbing shoulders with the two major parties, APC and PDP. However, the major parties as usual, shunned the Igbos but God in His infinite mercy, gave the Igbos a platform to showcase themselves to the world through the unknown Labour Party however, the marginalisation continued. Obi has gained popularity and momentum and people have forgotten that the Igbos are still marginalised. They now want Biafra to fold up their systems and processes of the actualisation to focus their efforts on Peter Obi, their new saviour. Now which is important to Biafra, Peter Obi presidency or Biafra? Have you now seen how confused the Igbos are? Do not get me wrong, the Igbos still want Biafra, they want Peter Obi and his presidency and they want peace in the region however, no one, practically no one knows what to do with sit-at-home; it has now become a moster and if Igbos are not careful it would cause internal trouble where the government of Nigeria and Nigerians become spectators. We need a leader now in Igboland to step in. Both sides of the arguments are all correct, right in their view points; nde kwe nde ekwela!
However, you cannot eat your cake and have it. Simon Ekpa, one of the characters in the King’s Palace has risen up and said no, where is my brother, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu? He cannot spend another Christmas and New year in Nigerian prison! Is he wrong? Remember in the King’s Palace, you have the bold, the weak and the meek; who is right and who is wrong? They are all fighting for a common purpose which is the protection of the king, His majesty and His integrity. The king must live! Chika Edoziem, understandably is right for peaceful agitation. My people have suffered enough; let us take it easy! The house of the king is divided in approach yet united in a singular purpose. Now who is right, the bold, the weak or the meek?
However, the good, the bad and the ugly have all mixed up in the same spot in the East! Confusion ensued. Has the popularity of Peter Obi negates the purpose of Biafra? Have the Igbos now got what they wanted? Are they using Biafra to intimidate Nigerians? If asked to choose from Peter Obi and Biafra, which one do they want? I am Obidient though I want Biafra and I still want Peter Obi presidency! Do you see how confused the Igbos are? One cannot eat his cake and still have it! The fact is, too many lives have been lost; too many blood have been wasted yet no peace in Igboland, no negotiation by the government; anarchy is beginning to consume everybody in the East. “If you go hunting without agreement you may likely kill an unknown animal” that may cause problems for the entire community; this an Igbo adage. Is the actualisation of Biafra a common agreement? Is the Peter Obi presidency a common agreement by the Igbos? Igbos are torn between two factors; which one do they want? Everyone outside Biafran land is cynically laughing behind the scenes. Igbos, Nigeria has got you where they want you to be, totally confused! See how every Igbo man is flexing his muscle, pointing accusing fingers; agreeing and disagreeing! Who is right, who is wrong? Orula nma anyi eji awa anya, onye ujo abiala nga anyi na awa anya! Where is Mazi Nnamdi Kanu? Our actions and inactions have impacts on his well-being.
However, let me be selfish for once; I want Peter Obi to be president, and I still want Biafra. However, I want to enjoy both Christmas and New year with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu released to enjoy both Christmas and New year in his father’s house; is that too much to ask for from Nigeria government and Nigeria if we all need peace and one Nigeria? Igbos leaders and Nigerian government should should sit for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for Christmas to shut Simon Ekpa up. Do not forget that Simon Ekpa is doing what they all agreed that they would do in the beginning. Simon Ekpa himself needs a peaceful Christmas and New year. So, I ask the Igbos to tell me, if Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was your brother, would you enjoy 2022 Christmas with him still in prison? Igbo leaders know what to do to stop the destructions currently going on in the East. They should release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to the people. Nigerians must understand the Igbos, there is emotional attachment to it. Igbos were not conquered by the British, no nation of Africa can boasts in the face of the Igbos. Stop poking your fingers in our eyes. That being said, I am Obidient! I want peace to reign in Igboland and in Nigeria however, the Igbos are unhappy that their son is unlawfully detained in Nigerian prison. Nigerians are cynical people, very happy that the government of Nigeria is suppressing the Igbos on their behalf hence none of the big political parties deemed it necessary to zone their presidency to the East. Do not be fooled, they all love and enjoy what is happening in the East. They all want the East to kill themselves for the benefits of our detractors. They are loving it, believe me!
However, a house divided by itself would sink. Igbos are really confused and divided both in Nigeria and in diaspora. Those who led the songs for the actualisation of Biafra have now signed petition to arrest Simon Ekpa because they want the actualisation of Obidient. Let me advise you Igbos, killing the bold, the mad boys and the disobedient in Igboland would enable the weak and the meek to surrender to Nigerian pressure. The continued killing of our disobedient and disgruntled youth of Igboland would neither give you Biafra nor the presidency of Nigeria. We want Nnamdi Kanu released to avoid the disobedience that led to the killing of our youth. Stop pointing fingers; tell Nigerian government to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu; that is what we want for Christmas and New year. All the trouble in the East would seize in just one day should Kanu be released today. Do not get me wrong, I am 100% Obidient. Releasing Mazi Nnamdi Kanu would bring lasting peace in Igboland, motivates and garner support for Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti BABA-Ahead presidency! So, speak out now, stop hiding, and from their fruits we shall know them. New politicians are warming up to enjoy Peter Obi presidency as we want to retire the old and embrace the young for the same purpose. Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed may mean well for Nigeria however, some of us have cross-carpeted for continued sharing and enjoyment; very selfish individuals, all seeking for what they can get, period!
However, nobody is right and nobody is wrong. We all are Obidient and the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will motivate and create more Obidients. Let us stop fooling ourselves. The continued detention of Kanu is strategic to disrupt Eastern and South Southern voters. We want to be Obidient and we want Nnamdi Kanu for Christmas. Whosoever detaining him in prison is an enemy of the East. They want 2023 elections to be disrupted in the East and South South. PDP loves it and APC loves it! Igbo leaders must wake up now and demand for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. I am speaking for over 75% of Igbos and Easterners. Well-meaning Nigerians must ask federal government to release Nnamdi Kanu. PDP and APC are happy that Nnamdi Kanu is held in detention to cause trouble and disrupt Eastern election come 2023. Wake up Igbos and other Nigerians, and start reasoning like human beings. Simon Ekpa is not your problem. He would be redundant with no more job to do if Kanu is released today. So, all Nigerians must call on Federal government to obey the court order and the United nations request to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu; we need him for Christmas and New year 2022. In fact, this is the only Christmas present we are expecting from the Nigerian government.
My name remains Oguchi Martins Egbujor. I am your messenger, and here is the message I was asked to give you. He who has ear let him hear! We love peace, we yearn for peace and we will enjoy peace by the grace of God!
